Note[ from an HTML file ]
Many online trees suggest that Bridget's mother was Margaret Parye, daughter of Thomas Parye of Shalford. However, perhaps an equal number indicate that Margaret Parye married William Marlar

Though Maragaet Parye may have married twice, the purported dates of children born to William Allgar and William Marlar appear to overlap

Another tree suggests Bridget's mother was Margaret Campbell of Shalford and yet another suggests, Margaret White

NameBertrade de Montfort was also known as Bertrade de Montfort, Reine Des Francs.
NoteBertrade was reportedly an amazing beauty, as well an inordinately skilled negotiator

She was first married in 1089 to the Count of Anjou, Fulk IV when she caught his eye. According to the chronicler John of Marmoutier, "The lecherous Fulk then fell passionately in love with the sister of Amaury de Montfort, whom no good man ever praised, save for her beauty"

Just 3 years later, Bertrade left Fulk to take up with King Philip I of France; they were married 15-May-1092, each with living spouses

Astonishingly, Bertrade reportedly persuaded Philip and Fulk to be friends

Philip was so enamored of her that he refused to leave her, even when threatened with excommunication

Pope Urban II excommunicated him in 1095, preventing Philip from taking part in the First Crusade.
