In some records, his name is spelled Clerke [used as his surname]

LDS proxy temple ordinances (from the LDS IGI. "Anc. of Jeremy Clarke...") says that he was Baron of the Exchequer from 10 Oct 1468 until 1479 and is mentioned as such in the Visitation of Kent 1619-1621 by John Philipot, Harleian XLII, and in the Visitation of Cambridge, 1619, St. George, London 1897

The mention also says:

"The will of John Clerk, Senior, Gentleman, of the parish of St. Clement Danes, without the bar of the new Temple, dated March 21, 1480, codicil dated December 10, 1480, pr. at Knoll March 10, 1480/1 (PCC 2 Logge) is written in Latin, of which the following is an abstract:

'If I die within the parish of St. Clement Danes, I desire to be buried in the Church of the Friars Minors (Ordenis fratrum minorum)

I bequeath
(4 pounds) to said order in London;
13s. 4d. to the parish church of Wroteham [likely Wrotham] for tithes forgotten;
