Biography

Birth8 March 1584/85Sarah White was born on 8 March 1584/85 in Shalford, County of Essex, England (Tudor), EuropeG.
Marriage1613James Boutell and she were married in 1613 in Little Salinge, County of Essex, England (Tudor), EuropeG.
Death1 August 1626She died on 1 August 1626 at age 41 in Shalford, County of Essex, England (Tudor), EuropeG. The cause of her death (at the age of 42) on Saturday, August 1st, 1626 is not known-surviving in 1626 was difficult & it occurred in Tudor England
Burial1 August 1626She was buried on 1 August 1626 at Buried in an unknown cemeteryG in Shalford, County of Essex, England (Tudor), EuropeG.1
NoteIn the Parish Register for Shalford, Essex, England, it is recorded that Sara (Sarah) Whighte (White), dau. of Robert Whighte (White) was christened 8 Mar 1585/1586. Because of the precise marriage date for her parents, [I] have chosen to use the christening date of 8 Mar 1586 for Sarah

One record in Ancestral File has Sarah White married to James Bowtell on 30 Jun 1614 in Shalford, Essex, England. However, this is exactly the same marriage date that Sarah's sister, Mary, married her husband, Joseph Loomis

It seems improbable that there was a double-wedding. Since the first of several children born to Sarah and James Bowtell was christened 15 Nov 1614 in Shalford, it is more likely that they were married in 1613, probably in Shalford, Essex, England

In Ancestral File, it says that Sarah (White) Bowtell was buried 15 Aug 1626 in Shalford. However, the Parish Record for Shalford, on 15 Aug 1626, records the burial date for "Sara Bowtell, daughter of James and Sara." This would be a child of Sarah White who was buried on this date, not Sarah herself. Anita Davis of Bountiful, Utah, has provided the date of 1623 for Sarah White's death. In her records, that is the year her will was proven.
Christening8 March 1585/86Sarah White was christened on 8 March 1585/86 in Shalford, County of Essex, England (Tudor), EuropeG.

Geoffrey V [in Ancient People & Artifacts]

Biography

Birth24 August 1113Geoffroy d'Anjou, V; Don's 25th GGF (in another branch) and the creator of the Plantagenêt dynasty, was born on 24 August 1113 in Maine-et-Loire, Pays de la Loire, France (Medieval), EuropeG.1,2
Marriage22 May 1127He and Matilda Alice Adelaide Beauclerc, Don's 25th GGM (in another branch), were married on 22 May 1127 at Le MansG, in Pays de la Loire, France (Medieval), EuropeG.
Death7 September 1151He died on 7 September 1151 at age 38 at Château Eure-et-LoireG in Rhône-Alpes, France (Medieval), EuropeG. The unsourced cause of his death (at the age of 38) on Friday, September 7th, 1151 (according to John of Marmoutier) was that Geoffroy was returning from a royal council in Medieval France when he was stricken with a fever at Château-du-Loir, whereupon he collapsed on a couch and died
Burialafter 7 September 1151He was buried after 7 September 1151 at Buried in an unknown cemetery in Le MansG, in Pays de la Loire, France (Medieval), EuropeG.
NameGeoffroy d'Anjou, V; Don's 25th GGF (in another branch) and the creator of the Plantagenêt dynasty, was also known as Geoffroy "The Fair."
NameHe was also known as Geoffrey, English spelling.
NameHe was also known as Plantagenêt.
NoteGeoffroy is spelled in French here; in English he is "Geoffrey" (see details in web links below) and, as the first "Plantagenêt" was the originator of the 300-year-long dynasty of the Plantagenêt Kings of France & England

His son, Henry, arguably one of the most effective Kings ever to wear the English crown was the first king of the great Plantagenet dynasty

Geoffroy was named after his great-grandfather, Geoffroy II, Count of Gâtinais and was also called "the Handsome" or "the Fair", each of which would be "Geoffroy le Bel" 'en Francais'

He was the Count of Anjou, Touraine, and Maine, in France (by inheritance) from 1129; he then became Duke of Normandy (by conquest) from 1144

By his marriage to Empress Matilda, daughter and heiress of Henry I of England, Geoffroy had a son, Henry Curtmantle, who succeeded to the English throne; Geoffroy founded the Plantagenêt dynasty, giving his nickname "Plantagenêt" to the dynasty; the spelling is the French version and is used throughout Don's tree

His nickname (and his surname) "Plantagenêt" was derived around 1130 from his use of sprigs of "yellow broom blossom" that he wore in his hat; the name is from "genêt"-the French name for "planta genista"-Latin for the broom shrub
