MarriageJanuary 1540He and Anne, of Cleves, were married in January 1540 in England (Tudor), EuropeG+.
Marriage28 July 1540He and Kathyrn Howard were married on 28 July 1540 at Saint Margaret's Church (presumed) in Westminster Abbey in the City of WestminsterG in Region of Greater London, England (Tudor), EuropeG+. After their marriage at the presumed St Margaret's church, it was then alleged that early in 1541, Catherine had embarked upon a 3rd romance with Henry's favorite male courtier, Thomas Culpeper, a young man who, according to Dereham's testimony "had succeeded [him] in the Queen's affections," and whom Catherine had considered marrying during her time as a maid-of-honour to Anne of Cleves

The couple's meetings were arranged by one of Catherine's older ladies-in-waiting, Lady Rochford, the widow of Catherine's cousin, George Boleyn, the brother of Anne Boleyn

Catherine and Henry toured England together in the summer of 1541, and preparations for any signs of pregnancy, which would have led to a coronation, were in place, indicating that the royal couple were sexually active with each other. During this time, however, a crisis began to loom over Catherine

People who had witnessed her indiscretions at Lambeth began to contact her for favours in return for their silence, and many of them were appointed to her household. Most disastrously, Catherine appointed Francis Dereham as her personal secretary, at the urging of the Dowager Duchess of Norfolk. This miscalculation led to the charges of treason and adultery against her

By late 1541, the northern progress of England had ended, and Catherine's indiscretions had become known to John Lascelles, a Protestant reformer whose sister, Mary Hall, had been a member of the Dowager Duchess's household; Mary had seen a letter to Culpeper in Catherine's distinctive handwriting, which is the only letter of hers that still survives, other than her confession. However, there is considerable doubt as to the story's authenticity, since Catherine was not fully aware of the charges against her until the archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Cranmer, and a delegation of councillors were sent to question her on 7 November 1541

Even the staunch Cranmer found Catherine's frantic, incoherent state pitiable, saying, "I found her in such lamentation and heaviness as I never saw no creature, so that it would have pitied any man's heart to have looked upon her." He ordered the guards to remove any objects that she might use to commit suicide

While a precontract between Catherine and Dereham would have had the effect of terminating Catherine's royal union, it also would have allowed Henry to annul their marriage and banish her from Court. Catherine would have been disgraced, impoverished, and exiled, but, ultimately, she would have been spared execution. However, she steadfastly denied any precontract, maintaining that Dereham had raped her
Divorcebefore 1543He and Anne, of Cleves, were divorced before 1543 in England (Tudor), EuropeG+.
Marriage12 July 1543He and Katherine Parr were married on 12 July 1543 at In the Queen's Closet at Hampton CourtG in Region of Greater London, England (Tudor), EuropeG+.
Death28 January 1547He died on 28 January 1547 at age 55 at Palace of Whitehall in the City of WestminsterG in Region of Greater London, England (Tudor), EuropeG+. The cause of his death (at the age of 56) on Tuesday, January 28th, 1547 is not known-surviving in 1547 was difficult

Died as King of England
Burial16 February 1547He was buried on 16 February 1547 at Interred at Saint George's Chapel in Windsor CastleG in Windsor, Berkshire, England (Tudor), EuropeG.
NoteHenry VIII had 6 wives (all of whom are historical facts) with several children; he died in 1547 at Whitehall Palace where he spent a good deal of his life

ChristeningJuly 1491He was christened in July 1491 at At the Church of the Observant Friars in Greenwich in Region of Greater London, England (Tudor), EuropeG+.
Title24 June 1509He held the title of King of England on 24 June 1509 at Westminster Abbey in the City of WestminsterG+ in Region of Greater London, England (Tudor), EuropeG+. [ extracted from "King Henry VIII of England.htm" ]

Henry's coronation took place on June 24, 1509 at Westminster Abbey

He was crowned by William Warham, Archbishop of Canterbury and was the first English sovereign to be styled 'majesty'

Only seventeen years old, Henry married his brother Arthur's widow, Catherine of Aragon, on June 11, 1509 and on June 24, the two were crowned at Westminster Abbey.
