| Note | In his 10-Jul-2003 note, Don's cousin Geoff (Violet's son) pointed out to me that "I've been chatting to my mother (Violet) and she remembers your mother quite well, as during the summers my mother and her sisters used to travel down to Southampton to visit Aunty Lil and family, and was quite chuffed to have a photo of your mother, as was my Aunty Betty [His Mum also] remembers that when her parents took over 2 Old Cottages, the shed at the bottom of the garden was full of baking equipment which belonged to Jim. I don't know if you knew Jim was a baker and also a seaman, as my mother also remembers he used to stock up the cottage with tea-chests full of food before going away to sea so that the family was well fed when he was away." | |
