The town was abandoned by 1682 and Richard moved to Westfield where he died about 1690

His estate was probated in 1690 at which time he owned a house and land in Deerfield, and personal property in Northampton, Westfield and Farmington; his estate was valued at 64 pounds-see Hampshire County, Mass Probate Records, Book 1, page 2683,2,4,5
