Biography

Birthabout 899Ratbold, II, was born about 899 at ArlesG, in Bouches-Du-Rhône, Provence-Alpes-Côte D'Azur, France (Medieval), EuropeG. Arles is the name of a "kingdom" that was formed in 933-35 when uniting Provence and Burgundy (including part of modern Switzerland)

It appears that Ratbold II also had a son, Rudolph III, who bequeathed the kingdom to Emperor Conrad II in 1032

It is unclear who the father of Boso, Count of Provence, is. Ratbold II is presumed to be the father of Gerberga, wife of Fulk II, Count of Anjou - see W.H.Turton, "The Plantagenet Ancestry: (Baltimore: Gen.Pub.Co.,1968, p.6), where the death year for Ratbold I is given as 928
