He was the owner of the Redmeat Smoke Pit Bar'B'Que Restaurant and a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, where he was chairman of the deacon board

Survivors include his wife, Rosie Beasley Gulley of Texarkana; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lawrence O. Gulley of Tuskegee, Ala., the Rev. Charles and Laura Faye Gulley of Fort Worth, Texas, and Grady Ray and Cynthia Gulley of Scott, Ark.; one daughter, Helen R. Lewis Swayne of Beaumont, Calif.; one stepson; four stepdaughters; and a number of other relatives

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Great Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Gulley officiating

Burial will be in Rhodes Cemetery, Ashdown, Ark
