Came to Plymouth Colony in 1623 on the "Anne."

Ralph Jr immigrated to America from England in Jul 1623 aboard the ship "Anne". The "Anne" was the third ship of Pilgrims to arrive at Plymouth from England. The first was the "Mayflower" in 1620, the second was the "Fortune" in 1621.The "Anne" was the third ship of Pilgrims to arrive at Plymouth from England. The first was the "Mayflower" in 1620, the second was the "Fortune" in 1621.He married Joyce _____ by 1623. Ralph sold "...his house garden plote & ye fences thereto belonging…" to Mr John Coombe for £9 on 12 Oct 1630. A few months later he sold to Thomas Clark for £10, an unspecified number of acres; but in a later deed this was identified as one of the 20 acre plots. Together these two transactions show that Ralph and Joyce were living on the remaining 20 acre grant. Ralph was a freeman of Plymouth in 1633, but did not hold any public office. He owned several parcels of land in Plymouth, including a house and garden plot at Hob(b)'s Hole and land along Eel River called "Wallen's Well".He died by 1644 when his wife married (2), as his third wife, THOMAS LUMBARD of Barnstable. Arrived at Plymouth Settlement in 1623 on the ship "Anne" (recorded on the ship's records & in early Mass. records). The ship arrived in Plymouth in July, 1623

Transcription of the ship Anne's passenger list may be found at: http://members.aol.com/calebj/anne.html

Pilgrims Ralph and Joyce Walling arrived 10 July 1623 at Plymouth, Massachusetts aboard the ship Anne. Sixty Pilgrims were on board. The Little James arrived in Plymouth around 20 July 1623. The Anne and the Little James were classed as the last of the Pilgrim ships. Their son, Thomas Walling was apparently with them, as he was born in 1620. Using the generation gap of 25 years, Ralph Walling was probably born about 1595

Descendants of Ralph and Joyce Walling have used the surnames of Walling, Wallin, Wallen, Walden and others
