In 1154 the church and land was given to The Monks of Stanley, Wiltshire, by Robert Fitzmartin the son of William Martin, so it can be inferred that the church was built before 1154
The nave and side aisles are in the Gothic style, but the tower was not added until 1907-09; it is a 4-stage tower to a total height of 116 feet. Topped with pinnacles and a cusiped lozenge pattern parapet, with a stair turret sprelet in the northeast corner, the bell within the tower is dated 1716
The church building is a Grade II listed building
