Henry is the [reported by the author to be the] beloved “Grandpa Fudder” that played the part of both Grandfather & Father to the Schmitt Children of William & Clara Schmitt, after William Schmitt (son of Grandpa Fudder) passed away in 1922 when he got sick with the Flu in 1922
From stories I’ve heard, he actually died from Pneumonia
My Mother (Henrietta Schmitt) was born in April of 1922; she was just an infant, never knowing her real Father. Grandpa Fudder represented the only Father she ever knew
Grandpa Fudder was known for being a kind & gentle man. Would get down on his knees each day, for prayer. From stories I’ve [the author] heard from the Schmitt’s (mostly from my Mother), everyone that knew him, adored him!! |
