This is about our visit to Sorrento during our Italy Trip in May, 2019
ps: sadly, this isn't set for iPhones/smaller screens… :(
On Monday, May 6th we took a high-speed train south from
Rome
through the countryside
to Sorrento (via Naples) & then onto the *awful!*
Circumvesuviana
train.
A taxi ride from the station to our hotel (only about a mile) actually cost us €20… another rip-off!
The
Grand Hotel Ambasciatori
was our "luxury" stop, with some simply stunning views:
We had a mid-afternoon snack in the restaurant which overlooks the Mediterranian:
Tuesday was prebooked for our Amalfi Coast visit, but I sadly had to skip that as
Montezuma's Revenge
decided to visit me overnight (!)…
my wife did get to have a great trip along the coast!
riding
shopping
beach
town
ocean view
and the Amalfi Coast
necklace
jewelry
flowers
On Wednesday we visited the resort's "beach" which is awesome, albeit not a beach… sea-side sun bathing! We then headed out for a walk where I was good for ~a half a kilometer, taking 15+ minutes each way.
Am also happy to report that I had what I'd call a
"full British breakfast"
with eggs, bacon, sausage, HP beans & toast…yummie!
We then lounged outside in the sun at the resort… really nice to hear the church bells!
At the end of the day, we had dinner at the resort, which was great!!
Thursday was spent with a visit to Pompeii… there was *much* wandering!! Just a couple snaps…
After a long day with an early dinner, we shuffled some of our luggage around a little for the morning departure & hit the hay
After your visit to Sorrento, you could continue on to our next area, Florence, return to Rome, visit Lucca or Cortana or return to the main trip page
