What's an MRI Scan?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging is an extremely sophisticated computer that is able to control and then detect the way hydrogen atoms spin inside your body and convert the detection of about 6 out of every million atoms into an amazingly detailed image that allows your doctor an almost unbelieveably clear way to see things inside of you!
There's also a special way to run the MRI system to scan and detect metabolic activity,
MR Spectroscopy;
this is what I tried in Feb/2000 without success, as the tumor is too close to my skull.
The (subsequently sucessful!) alternative was a
Pet Scan.
This interesting MRI FAQ site is worth a visit. These imaging machines are made by several companies, with the ones from GE Medical Systems being among the best!
