Our Week in Jamaica

Reporting our annual Warm-Winter-Week in Jamaica this year as we are just back! We stayed at a Fantastic resort: Breezes on Runaway Bay (now renamed)… the beach view from our room:

The weather was great all week with loads of sun (except for one cloudy day) where I managed to crisp up my sunburn very nicely!!

We pretty much "powered down" & relaxed on the wonderful white beach…

We read books or watched the ocean (or the occasionally "yummy+" view; no pix!) all day with a couple of side trips out. Food was really pretty good too; eating outside most evenings under the stars was especially romantic.

Our favorite lunch was from Henry's Jamaica Jerk Chicken on the beach…
We also needed a couple of beers ( cool++ ! ) with a close second of early morning coffee (I was snapped delivering our breakfast!) and freshly-made omelets ( OK… maybe 9-ish! )

We spent one day away from the resort in the Ocho Rios area, a town about 30 minutes from the resort. We did a little shopping in the cash-only market, visited the Dunn's River Falls & had a really nice guided wander thru some beautiful gardens at Shaw Park, which is on the mountainside overlooking the town.

Our other trip was a 2-hour sunset cruise on a 30' tri-hull catamaran (shows one like it) with a 6-man crew, out on the ocean with plenty of beer & fruit rum++ drinks…

Just a wonderful evening except for the waves, which were occasionally a little too “bouncy,” leaving me on the hairy edge of spilling the beer I had drunk! The waves were really exciting, though—just like a crazy carnival ride!

Sadly, a big wave splashed all over, tagging my camera a little more than it could tolerate! I'm looking for a repair shop now, as it won't power on at all. Oh well…

Well, that's about it for the travel report! Hope you enjoyed it… Love from the both of us!
