Information About the Author of the EOL 2012 Page
"Belief Systems" drive individuals towards (or away from) certain sets of religious perceptions, typically learned before you're knee-high. The author grew up many years ago in a seaside town on the South coast of England with nothing but negative views from his father about religion, working for a boss, etc. He passed on from his school (without graduation) to a Northern England military school in 1970 and eventually moved to America... Global travels have blessed him with perspectives on life from meeting, knowing and loving many people in many countries.
After graduating with a unique recognition for his unusually high level of success at the military school, several years were spent in the Army in many places, including 3+ years in West Germany.
With an unexpected early military discharge due to an accident, learning at a tech-school in London started building the authors' skill as a field-service engineer, working after this with a team that maintained mainframe computers at a national bank in northern London. As the corporation who owned the computers was US-based, the author was lucky enough to be able to move in 1980 to join a team in the Washington, DC area who were maintaining the same computers in the World Bank. Changing companies twice more before becoming a consultant in the mid-80's, the author has developed software applications for many years for multiple companies.
His preference is to be outside whenever possible, walking/biking/driving a convertible car, or camping, fishing, etc… also helping (prior to our move south to live near Atlanta, GA) with the wife’s delightful gardens around our little house on a hill in south-eastern Wisconsin! When being outside is difficult due to weather etc, his relaxation is achieved by watching movies, history, nature or geographic shows on our satellite-dish TV system (DVR included), by scanning global news on my PC (Google news) in the early am & sometimes by simply reading and listening–Ray Kurzweil’s work continuously entrances him, as do observations about certain people that are leaders in parts of America, yet lie to your face on a daily basis.
The author is also passionate about working with computers in many ways, from fixing, fiddling & fighting with various aspects of them to teaching folks about them, as well as creating tools/applications & web-sites such as this one; his business (Creative Logic Software, LLC) shares some examples of this.
